Love it down there! A friend had a place at Vincentia & it was always a joyous time swimming, sailing & diving in those glorious aqua aquas.
Happy New Year & let's catch up soon.
I'll ways remember your kindness when I was breaking my heart this time last year. X

Yes Ann I agree that it makes a world of difference to one's resolve and ability to finish a report to know that someone is reading it, as you did with mine when I followed you around Sri Lanka earlier this year. (Also hetismij when I was posting from the Hurtigruten last year)
Now I'm reading from the Rees in Queenstown having arrived in New Zealand on NYE. Hoping to pick up some pointers and tips as we head back to Auckland over the next ten days.

Hi ann so looking forward to your take on Brisbane....don't hold back.
We've just arrived home from a driving trip to Melbourne and to say dh enjoyed listening to the cricket would be an understatement. Might be just as well you didn't wait for the Sydney test!!

Lucky you didn't come just for the cricket then!>>
wasn't it just. Even the Barmies must be flagging in their support for our witless pathetic bunch of players. [i'm not even going to call them a team as they don't deserve the term]. our plan of putting the cricket [almost] first and then having our holiday worked well.
aussie, I'm glad that your DH has been enjoying the cricket, but remember you're only as good as your last result, and you've got SA next. Guess who I'll be rooting for! [clue - they won't be wearing the baggy green].
toucan2 - it never occurred to me to try blogging. i had enough trouble making my daily tally of what we've spent. [which also helps me to remember where we've been and what we've done, so it's doubly useful]

pink wash, surely?
absolutely hopeless. Only Broad and Stokes showed any backbone.
I expect the same to happen in the 50/50 unless Cook steps down as captain; I would replace him with Broad and G. Boycott to replace Flower as chief coach?

Here's my take on Brisbane:
When one is lost after arriving that very morning from the US, one quickly realizes that Brisbane has far too many one way streets, seemingly no grid pattern for said streets, and not enough parking (to use to stop and ask for directions).
Otherwise, it looked very inviting!
(above opinion may have been influenced by 27 hours of travel and ensuing grumpiness)

toucan - we didn't have a car in Brisbane and from the sound of it, we made the right decision.
public transport there is very easy to use, and cheap [some of the boats that cross the river are free!] and even had free wifi. I think that we possibly had one day too many there [we might have thought differently had the cricket been going well] but we enjoyed what we did, apart from the match of course!

and Stokes is a Kiwi!>>
one of the latest recruits is a Zimbawean - Gary Ballance. He apparently dropped a sitter today in the ODI which OZ won at a canter, but he did bat well.
Bit anxious about Sefrica!>>
so you should be.
