oompah!! in melbourne?

Are there any really recommmendable Greek places in Melbourne. Not just the grilled fish, but the fried saganaki, moussaka....garden amosphere? Would love a great Greek place to try--we don't have any really authentic in Boston Mass.

Try &quot;Jim's Greek Tavern&quot; in Johnson Street, Collingwood. It's very authentic, no menu, but all that great food, and reasonably priced! Enjoy!

Help me Melbourne people but isn't it Lonsdale St, the greek area in the city centre? On the corner there is a 24 hour cafe, and they have great gyros and souvlaki plus other greek dishes. A few doors away is a marvellous greek pastry shop. No garden though, this is right in the middle of the concrete jungle.

Londsdale St in the city it is for Greek food - it's the heart of the greek restaurant area and you'll be spoilt for choice. Out of the city centre there's also Jims (as mentioned), Remvi in Williamstown and one in Yarraville - but I can't remember it's name!

The Greek restaurant on the corner in Lonsdale St is Stalactites. Food is OK. I'd try Lygon St for atmosphere, mainly Italian food but a few Greek restaurants. <BR>Kay
