Only 5 days?????

Help!! With the many things to do in Australia, we only have 5 days in New Zealand, bummer. Can you give us any highlights we might consider for such a short visit? Thanks, Deb

Having spent a lot of time in NZ, my recommendation for such a short stay would be to head straight for Queenstown and make that your base for seeing the south of the South island. There are absolutely heaps of things to do and see from Queenstown.

Cheers

I would stick to whichever Island you are flying into. If you fly into Auckland, consider a ferry ride to Devonport, America's cup village. North to Kauri forest and Bay of Islands. or, South to Rotorua, Taupo, Tongariro NP.

I agree with mlgb. Maximize your time by spending it on whatever island you land on.

Where will you land, and what are your interests?

Or, on second thought...that's such a short time to spend in such a beautiful place. Can you find another five days' worth of stuff to do in Australia?
