Of interest to those going to Coromandel

The Cathedral Cove Track has been officially closed by dock due to Cyclone Gabriel damage, but determined travelers are ignoring DOC notices:

CC is a stunning spot, but the last time we visited we found it absolutely heaving with tourists even thought it was on the cusp of winter/spring. Not sure I would want to visit in high season.

As for those tourist who ignore the signs, their decision but I can't help thinking that if they did encounter problems they would be the first ones to call the emergency services and put those people at risk. Instagram has a lot to answer for!

I agree with you about rule-breakers and those who ignore warnings.
