NZ slideshow, three weeks on the South Island, June 2011

Figured I'd skip to the chase and post the photos. At the rate I'm going I may never finish the trip report.

Thank you, thank you! Really lovely slide show, some made me laugh out loud. Of course, it may satisfy me for awhile, but I'm really looking forward to the trip report.

Thanks steamboatsista. The report is underway, but man it's gonna be long as it covers three weeks. I'm trying to reign myself in a bit, but it's not working so well.

Hi, Melnq8. Just loved your slide show, as a lot of the places we are familiar with, especially my DH. He did a lot of the walks when a young man, no mean feat when in those days there was no road at Haast to link the two parts of the West Coast road, and he lived near Springfield!

Interesting software on Tripadvisor, thanks for posting those photos. Looks like you had some good breaks from the rain.

Thanks dotty. We met several Kiwis who told us similair stories about how they got around before some of the roads were built. NZ has faced its share of challenges, that's for sure.

mlgb - we had a lot of cloud, but only two days of significant rain. We were pretty lucky weather-wise.
