Melbourne Itinery - GOR/Mornington/Philips Island
#21
I think day 3 looks fine. Play it by ear, but the drive to Anglesea is about right and you've allowed 7 to 8 hours after that cover 2 hours of actual driving. Should be plenty of time to see lots of stuff, unless you get going on some treks of something around Otway.
By the way, to clarify something you said in an earlier post:
Then drive to Dandenong for Puffy Billy & Mornington to Sorrento & stay 1N at Sorrento
Don't get confused by this. "Dandenong" is a large and sort of working class suburb in the midst of the south eastern suburbs, and you see signs for it on the way to Philip Island or Sorrento. This is NOT where you're going.
The Puffing Billy is in Belgrave. It runs through the Dandenong RANGES. The suburb of Dandenong listed on the highway signs is NOT in the Dandenong Ranges. Though to further confuse things, the village of MOUNT Dandenong IS in the Dandenong Ranges. lol. Confusing for me when I first got here.
Anyway, don't head for "Dandenong"

Thanks counterclifton, yes I have dropped Dandenong.
Revised Day 3 & Day 4:
Day3: Drive from Melbourne Central 9am
- Point Addis
- Anglesea golf club for kangaroos 11am – 1pm
- Airey Inlet: Split Point Lighthouse/ Fairhaven/Moggs Creek (drive past only*1-2pm)
- Lorne: Lorne Pier/Louttit Bay (Teddy’s Lookout)/Ship wreck at Separation Creek 2-4pm *lunch here
- Kenett River – koalas & parrots (Grey River road)/ Sausage Gully/ Cape Patton Lookout
- Apollo Bay
- Climbing into the Otway Ranges through the Great Otway National Park to Lavers Hill. Dinner at Lavers Hill.
- Check in Lavers Hill Hotel.
Day 4: Check out from Lavers Hill
- Princetown
- 12 Apostles & down Gibson steps for ground view
- Loch & Gorge
- Port Campbell
- The Arch
- London Bridge
- The Grotto
- Drive back inland via Colac
- Dinner at Queenscliff
- Stay 1N at Queenscliff Big4
Or another plausible solution is to stay the first night at Apollo Bay and the 2nd night at Colac, instead of Queenscliff. But we will need to leave very early from Colac, by 7am to reach the Queenscliff ferry service to board the ferry by 10am.

t's a bit of a long drive to Queenscliff (about 3 hours) but not terribly difficult and you are correct, the inland drive would be faster. Decent roads, not much to stop for. I don't know much about Colac except there doesn't seem to be much of interest there. I've only just passed through myself,
Overall, your revision seems fine to me. I'd probably make for Queenscliff after your early day sightseeing. It's all views with short walks leading to them, so how long it takes is pretty much based on how long you stand and look at it.
