This request is so different (for this site) that you almost had my inner trivia buff heading off in pursuit of the answer.
Almost, I'm sorry, but not quite, as God willing I don't expect to ever set foot in Tarcoola. I just checked the Google map and it looks like a flyspeck at the end of the world. I'm an inveterate townie though, so don't let me put you off.
Some suggestions:
* Contact the railway operator - someone there, somewhere, may know.
* Contact the South Australian tourism commission (they have a website of course) - somebody's cousin may once have passed through Tarcoola.
* Phone a local business - the choice will surely be small. Is there a pub? Maybe. A service station? Probably. How would you find them? Don't know, but www.whitepages.com.au and www.yellowpages.com.au would be a start, and Google is your friend (the town does seem to have a caravan [trailer] park).
Nice little project - good luck!

Good suggestions, NeilOz.
Hopefully, Peter_S_Aus will see your post. I think he's done this route and would probably know what's likely to be available. As it's the rail junction, there should be at least a pub/garage.
You might also try www.exploroz.com
They seem to have some good off-the-beaten-track info.
Looks like an interesting trip.

I've never been to Tarcoola, but the web site below advises that there is a population of two people. The pub is closed down, and I think there is not much else there. However, if you could make contact with either of the residents, they would help you out for sure, and would welcome the visit.
But maybe you can chuck the bicycles onto the train?
In any case, if you are cycling, take a lot of water with you, and travel light. I wrote half a trip report about cycling around Australia - click on my name and you would find it.
Good luck!
