looking for great snorkeling, all-inclusive resort

Looking for recommendations for a *great* 7-10 day vacation in the south pacific sometime in March, willing to pay up to $7K total for 2 people. Here's what we're looking for: <BR> - great snorkeling. We don't scuba, but we LOVE to snorkel. Being able to snorkel daily in a new loocation is a must. Warm water in March is a must. <BR> - all-inclusive resort. Looking for something romantic, luxurious, classy, somewhat rustic feel is OK. Needs to have meals, excursions, etc. included. <BR> <BR>We are already considering Matangi (www.matangiisland.com) and Club Med Bora Bora which both look great. Looking for other options to consider as well. <BR> <BR>thanks! <BR>austina <BR>

I wouldn't call Heron Island luxurious but what a great place to snorkel. <BR>It's not a dump ,just a well rounded unpretentious resort.Just beware of the Noisy mutton birds.

Bula! <BR>Another option is Fiji, the "10 Day" Blue Lagoon cruise. The people and the snorkeling are fantastic. The food and rooms on the boat are nothing fancy, but lots of fun. Don't look into the "7 Day" cruise unless you want to be around children. Made lots of friends on the boat; we were the only American couple on our boat, mostly Australians, Kiwis and Italians. <BR>

Lynne - I have to agree with you about the nationality of the people you meet on the Blue Lagoon Cruise. However, I think it must depend on the time of year whether children are on board or not. We took the 7-day cruise and there were only adults.

What about Lizard Island in North Queensland and on the Barrier Reef - beautiful island and wonderful snorkling. Then there is Hayman in the Whitsundays which is extra good and you have the choice of another 80 islands as well in the vicinity. You couldn't do better than the Barrier Reef for what you want and all the islands are first class, clean and friendly. If you do by chance want to do something else for the day then you have that option too.

Here is a good site for you with some information as well: <BR>http://www.southlongisland.com/Great-barrier-reef.htm <BR>and further up north... <BR>http://www2.eis.net.au/~nqtds/infocomm/1overv1.html <BR>This will give you some idea of the islands and then if you like one you can seach that one out. <BR>Best of luck <BR>
