You cannot stay in secure areas when going from T5 to the Bradley. You go out (you have no choice) to the baggage-carousel at street level, turn left on the sidewalk and go past T4 to the Bradley.

There probably are some secret connecting passageways between T5 and T4, but not for you and me. And I don't think T4 and the Bradley are even connected. So you have to go out, at street level.

You can wait for the loop bus that goes the other way (the loop is one-way only) and ends up at the Bradley also.

I wasn't sure on the airside thing. I'd just been reading about a airside bus Qantas runs during certain hours between T4 (near Gate 44) and TBIT (sort of like Heathrow has that people mover on the secured side).

That one was at LAX came as a surprise, so I thought there might be some chance that there were more, so decided to qualify my earlier answer. Just in case some super smart person knew of a super secret bus from T5 that I didn't.

Well, if they have a way to ferret you out the back of T5 onto the tarmac, bus you to another terminal and let you in from the still secure side, who knows?

I've done that a bunch when going from LAX to places like Monterey - if you fly with American Eagle for example, you do TSA on the way into the "real" terminal, then out through a door and down some stairs and onto a bus - there's at least one cute selfcontained terminal out on the runways where the Embraers and such puddlehoppers leave from.

But between T5 and Bradley I'm not aware of that service. Still - never say never.

Betty when you get off your Delts flight there will be a Delta rep at the gate. Give them your Qantas flight number & they will direct you to the easiest way to get to that terminal. You should definately be able to check your luggage in in Atlanta all the way through to Melbourne so you don't have to worry about it again until you get to Melbourne. You will have to clear security again in LAX. Don't worry about it everything will be fine.

You will have to go through Customs and Immigration in Melbourne - just in case I have missed someone telling you this. There are no facilities for that in Hobart.

Everyone has been so kind. Our sons have always used a forum to get answers, and this has been wonderful. We look forward to our trip. Thank you good friends.

I have even learned that Terminal B at LAX is TBIT and that the correct spelling for the airlines is Qantas. Life is good.

I am starting a new forum to try to get some answers about going through Customs and Immigration in Melbourne. Please look for it.
