Kangaroo Island & Tasmania in September

My husband & I are planning a 3 week trip to Australia late Sept. We know
this is not nearly enough time to travel but we would like to see as much as
possible. Tasmania & Kangaroo Island are on our agenda. We' dlike to know
what the weather is like and things that are not to be missed. Any other info
on Adelaide or Cape Trib is greatly appreciated, too! Ta!

We were in Australia for 5 weeks in March and April and visited Tasmania for 5 days. We loved Tasie. Some of the things we recommend are:
Port Arthur Historical site (stay at the Flag Inn located next to the park and you can just walk there) The ghost tour wasn't really that good.
The best wildlike park was Trowunna where you could hold a Wombat and pet a Tasmania Devil being held by the attendant.
The Tasmanian Devil Park, the Bush Narrow Gage RR and old saw mill were good and you can buy a combination ticket. The Bonorong Wildlife park was also fun (we like the animals)
We stayed at the Balmoral motor inn in Launceston and liked it. (It is also a Flag Inn property) We stayed in Flag Inn motels most of the time. If you can get reservations you might want to visit the Cadbury factory in Hobart. We could not, but they gave us a nice sample.
We did not visit Kangaroo island as it did not seem worth the effort.
In Adelaide we visited the Gorge Wildlife Park where they had albino kangaroos and wallabies. They also have a large collection of Koalas which you can hold and pet (there are only a few places in Australia where you can actually hold them).
There are a number of wineries in the area that you might like to visit.Victor Harbor has a few fairy penguins, but not like Phillips Island near Melbourne. Hahndorf is near Adelaide and was settled by the Germans and is sort of like Carmel.
You can see the giant rocking horse also.
It might be cold when you are in Tasmania.
If you have specific questions, just email me.
