WHERE oh Where in OZ are they filming this??<BR><BR>Thinking up near Cairns but I can't be certain....it is rainforest.....but otherwise no clues!<BR><BR>The show seems a bit tedious but roughing it in the jungle with all of the poisonous spiders does make it more interesting!

I thought it was being filmed around Murwillumbah actually and Nimbin area. If that is the case then the story of spiders, snakes and anything else will be one big PORKY and either in the imagination of the cast or an added part of the set!

No it is near Mt Warning and the beloved home of Johhj-au's Mum. I read it again in the papers yesterday where the cast are getting their nice piping hot coffee and a few other perks. It probably looked more imposing because since they arrived it has rained so looks more jungle than it really is. In fact it is a beautiful area of Australia and one that I am constantly suggesting overseas visitors go and see and enjoy. <BR>As for spiders, a couple of little Daddy Longlegs shouldn't worry them at all or the odd python - that is if they are lucky enough to see one.

I am interested to know precisely where this is as I noticed in this week's episode that there was an interesting boardwalk across the rainforest canopy and I would love to visit it if I know where it is! Was that part filmed in a National Park?<BR><BR>Or, if no one knows, are there any places similar to it in N. Queensland that has boardwalks and bridges across the rainforest canopy? It is being filmed around MT Warning which is just west of Murwillumbah in very northern New South Wales and near to the Tweed River and the border ranges of Queensland and NSW - a particularly lovely part of Australia and one that many people miss out on seeing because they only hear about Cairns/Sydney/Ayers Rock etc. There are many National Parks in the area and one that has a boardwalk in the rain forest is Lamington National park in Queensland and they also have a walk above the rainforest AND you can climb one of the rainforest trees and get a bird's eye view of the rainforest. Springbrook National park have a walk - perhaps not a board-walk - around the rainforest to what is called &quot; The best of all lookouts&quot; where you can overlook the Tweed valley over to Mt Warning. That particular walk goes past Antarctic Beach Trees which are 3,000 years old. You can take a walk up Mt Warning itself and I think they upgraded that walk for the 2,000 celebrations because that was the first place in Australia to get the sunrise on the new millenium - so it could have been there too. Where I live, on Mt Tamborine there are 9 National parks within a short distance &amp; all have wonderful walks. <BR>If you are coming to Australia these particular areas are absolutely wonderful to explore and the unique flora and fauna is particularly bountiful and beautiful. One small park has a fantastic waterhole at the end of the walk where you can swim in spring water and sit under a lovely waterfall ( summer mind you) and at night that gloworms light up the cavern where the water flows over. It is all free to those who wish to take the time to see it.

Dunno Johhj but there has been a lot reported about it in the papers up here. They arrived and we had about 10 inches of rain which made it pretty wet and wild for a while.

It is on US TV, on ABC. It is actually a pretty horrible show, but I wanted to see it so I could check out the Queensland rainforest. It looks beautiful! I think it is funny that the show's premise is that this is a godawful place and people just can't wait to get out. Meanwhile, I am planning to go there on purpose, spending thousands of dollars in the process. HA HA!

Most people would give their eye teeth to go there for 2 weeks. <BR>Those that have been kicked off have then come to the Gold Coast here and basked in the Sunshine etc at the ****** Vercase Hotel - poor babies!!<BR>

Hi Liz and others:<BR><BR>Thanks for the detailed email. Now I am excited about wanting to go to this area. I am NOT interested in the usual Sydney/Ayer's Rock tourist sites. I really want to see a lot of birds, other wildlife and native plants, etc. Sounds like Lamington NP might be a good spot. Do you see animals there at all? Do you know anything about O'Reilly's? I think that is a lodge in the middle of the Lamington NP?<BR><BR>So if I were to go here I suppose I could fly into Brisbane from the US, take a car from there, then I would want to fly from Brisbane to Cairns and go to Daintree, Cape Tribulation, Atherton Tablelands, etc. Then I am hoping to jump over to Lizard Island for a few days and then I suppose I would come back through Brisbane to return home. What do you think of that itinerary? Other suggestions?<BR><BR>Joni<BR><BR>PS. Our idea of the perfect vacation is a retreat in the middle of a rain forest, surrounded by birds and animals, but at a nice lodge/hotel where we can come back and be pampered after a long, hot day of muddy trekking around. (Doesn't have to be 5 star but nice).

I am in Adelaide at present so I cannot check my information brochures but here goes. <BR>If you want somewhere where you can have a nice relaxing time after hiking and still have some very nice restaurants around and other things to do then come and stay on Tamborine Mountain where there is lots and lots of lovely accommodation and do some nice day trips to a variety of places i.e a nice hike through a rain forest followed by a few nips at the local wineries and then a trip in the evening to the gloworm cave? Or just a nice restaurant for dinner. <BR>Both O'Reillys and Lamington have wonderful walks and you will see animals and birds but once there you are kind of stuck there and there is absolutely nothing else to do. Tamborine is more or less half way between the two largest National Parks and not for from the road through the border range to Mt Warning and the Tweed Valley as you drive through the lovely Numinbah Valley. Have a look at the web site that I suggested recently for someone for the Gold Coast and then click on hinterland information and you will see for yourself what there is available. Let me know in a couple of days if you still need some help looking and I will be home then to check for you. <BR>HTH <BR>Liz<BR>PS So far I have not seen any reason why I would come all the way over here to go to Kangaroo Island - The Barossa Valley for wine and the Adelaide Hills for interesting little villages yes but not for animals. Has anyone actually figured out where the show is currently being filmed? It's in it's second week now in the UK, and probably the most popular series ever. Ant &amp; Dec (who presented Pop Idol in UK and World Idol) are presenting it. There's all the D-list celebs out there, and it's quite an interesting series.

Any ideas?
