illawarra coast, Nsw
I love the south coast and especially the Illawarra coastline, at least from a drive-through first impression. I can find lots of info about the south coast in general but because the townships between Sydney and Nowra are quite small, there is not much on the net about them. Anyone got any experiences to share? Love Werri beach at Gerringong...which are the other good beaches and does anyone recommend any accommodation down there? There is an old pub on the cliffs...maybe it's Thirroul, Scarborough or Austinmer...anyone know?

Hi Isabella,

I have no idea what the "Travel agent alert" refers to.

I used to live on the south coast and it is a very nice area. I lived at a place called Culburra which is on the coast out from Nowra. I spent many summer days on the beach there. I also kicked around Jervis Bay beaches like Iluka and Green Patch, the later being an excellent place to feed Lorakeets.

My wife and I also used to hoilday at Kiama at the caravan park at Easts Beach it is quite close to the blowhole, they now have excellent low cost cabins available right on the beach front.

I spent a couple of years attending the Wollongong TAFE college and enjoyed shopping in Wollongong. I especially enjoyed the lunches at the Wollongong RSL club.

Cheers
