Hotel in Te Anau / Queenstown

Where should we stay in this area? We plan to see Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound, Routeburn Track, Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers, etc. in November and are looking for a nice hotel or hotels in the $250-$300 (give or take) range.

We'll be driving in and then taking an early afternoon flight out of Queenstown

Thanks!

For all except the glaciers, staying in TA would be best. The glaciers are a day's drive from QT. For $250 US, you should be able to get a good hotel in QT. TA is less expensive.

What hotel would you recommend in Te Anau? How about in Queenstown?

We stayed at The Point in QT, which we thought was great. But I am unable to find anyone else who noted that they stayed there. We didn't stay in TA.

We really enjoyed our four night stay at The Croft B&B in Te Anau - highly recommend it.

We stayed at the Heritage Queenstown. It is a short walk outside of town (with a hill near the hotel). We were upgraded to a townhouse - 2 story, 3 bedroom, kitchen, patio. These units are across the street from the main hotel. The only time we went to the main hotel was to check in/out.

Not that we walked into town. We drove. Parking is not that big of a problem. Even on New Year's Eve, at 10PM, I found a spot.

Forgot to mention, actually, that we had a great stay at the Heritage QT and I'd love to go back.
