Don't misses:
Rent a car and drive around Moorea. Go to lunch at Daniel's pizza, have a drink at the Bali Hai, eat dinner at Le Bateau or Les Tipaniers. Snorkel off the back side of the small motu just off shore from the Parkroyale. Bring your own booze. Hit the grocery store and stock up on beer for your fridge. Get the dive masters to take you to places they don't usaually go. Read my report for info on getting a free stingray snorkelling adventure when staying at the Parkroyale (sneaky). Post any questions to the Scubacharter.com discussion board.

Travel report
http://www.scubacharter.com/travel/F...ynesia/fp1.htm
Discussion board
http://www.scubacharter.com/forum/display_forum.asp
Scott

Just got back from Moorea and Bora Bora for my honeymoon-AWESOME!!!-not one bad second!
Hope you are flying Air Tahiti Nui,it is the best and we heard horrow stories about the rest!
Moorea-you must go to Belvedere lookout, the juice factory,Bali Hai happy hour, shark and stingray feeding, and eat at Alfredo's.
Bora Bora-you must take jet ski tour around island, eat at Bloody Mary's, and go to Maihti Pearls(ask for Steve) and get your woman a black pearl! The water in Bora Bora makes Hawii look like a lake! Have fun!!
My husband and I spent a week on Moorea
July 2 - 10, 1999. Here is our 2 cents:

There were four of us and we all hated Alfredo's. Other tourists had said the same, but our hotel raved about it (we decided they get a kickback).

If you rent a car, reserve through Avis via their 800# here in the states first - you will get a much better rate. Ask for discounts, AAA, Entertainment, etc. Ask for the different rates for kilometers included, or Km extra charge.

We got a rate that worked out to $20 US per day plus about another $10 for mileage. $30 a day for a week was a bargain compared to the rate there of $70+ per day! Oh yes, but be sure to get a paper copy from Avis of what you reserve or else they won't find your reservation and will try to charge you the regular rate.

Les Tepaniers was an exellent restaurant. We also enjoyed the seafood at Mahogany in the Cook's Bay area.

I definitely agree with bringing your own alcohol - we did and saved a bundle. When you stop at the grocery store, try the Tahiti Drink - it's a fruity alcoholic beverage.

Have fun!!

We were in Moorea exactly one year ago. We found the island to be breathtaking, an excellent choice for a honeymoon. Some of our highlights included: the dolphin and whale watching expedition with Dr. Michael Poole, breakfast at L'Ananas Bleu (The Blue Pineapple) for the crepes and fresh pineapple juice. It is run by Charlie and his wife, a more accomodating couple you will never find. Across from L'Ananas Bleu is the Club Bali Hai. Friday night is Happy Hour and in our opinion the best view on the island. We thought the nicest beach was at the Sofitel la Ora, and one of the prettiest views is the Toatea View Point in Temae just above the Sofitel. We recommend taking the 4x4 tour up to the Afareaitu waterfalls. Grab a quick lunch at Allo Pizza, dinner at La Case or Caprice des iles in the Cooks Bay area or Le Bateau near your hotel. Get your wife a black pearl and a colorful pareo. By the way we flew AOM and had no problems. Have a wonderful honeymoon.
