I hope we have not oversold this cruise! Sometimes better to just stumble onto something rather than have really high expectations.
If cost is a concern I do recall reading about a west coast cruise further up the coast. Not touristy and cheaper. Arthur River, However I have never heard first hand experiences. But that is what happens when something is not on the tourist trail, you never hear first hand about it!
Still the Gordon River is just a few relative inches into a major world heritage area and the boats maybe new and expensive but they have been especially designed to limit wash onto the riverbank to minimise disruption to the fragile ecology.
The upper deck is a real splurge but if you cannot manage it then maybe the Arthur River Cruise would appeal. A long ways out of the way unless you are travelling that route anyway but just thought I would through in an option.
The other cruise I found comparable in price if I remember correctly, just that they do shorter morning/afternoon tea runs that seem cheaper at first glance but you are not really going so far. I maybe wrong, only my memory of when I was figuring all this out for myself.
Hope you have a great trip
