Can anyone recommend a local booking/travel agency for Bali?

Hi Everybody!

We are in the very preliminary stages of planning a short, side trip to Bali from Darwin, Australia sometime in October of 2009.

Can anyone recommend a RELIABLE and HONEST travel agency in Bali (or Australia) for a short 4-5 day trip. I want someone to help put together the airline transportation, ground transfers, assist with hotel selection and possibly some local sightseeing.

Any ideas? All suggestions will be appreciated.

P.S. I am posting this on both the Asia and Australia forums.

The Airlines themselves, Qantas do packages and I've always found www.bestflights.com.au to be reliable and they also have plenty of packages or will knock one up to suit you.

October was the month of the bombing there and just in case there are people still about looking to make anniversary bombings, best to stay away from crowded bars in evenings.

Have a look on www.Balitravelforum.com

There's an Agent lots of regular Bali travellers use and if you ask, someone will tell you immediately.

I just book direct, and can't remember her name, but do know she's been doing a great job for years.

Bushranger-
Thanks for the tip about <www.bestflights.com.au>. I'll keep them under consideration. I'm glad that there is a way to converse with them and to express my preferences and ask questions. They look similar to Flight Centre.

Bokhara2-
Let me know if you ever remember the agent's name. I much prefer personal recommendations. That is what we did in Buenos Aires and everything worked out very well. Our travel agent was a local person who did an amazing job on our trip there last year.

This <http://tinyurl.com/6dl87g>. is my concern when trying to make decisions half a world away and with tight constraints.

The travel agent is Nicki Lawson [email protected]. On the Gold Coast & fantastic, according to several of my regular Bali-going friends.
