dark bars/restaurants
There's a growing trend for the above so you know what's it like to be blind. It originated in Paris & I've looked at
www.danslenoir.com in London & http://www.onoir.com/en/frames.htm in Montreal
Anyone know if there's one in Sydney?

I did a quick search but both the restaurants in Melbourne and Sydney appear to have closed.
I went to the one in Melbourne 2-3 ago and I really enjoyed the experience. It was interesting how some of the people in our group found it rather intimidating and were a bit nervous about the whole thing, whereas others like me found it plain fun. I suppose it depends on your individual makeup. If it had been a restaurant involving heights, I would have been the nervous one.
It is a shame they have shut but I suppose it's a bit too gimicky to attract the repeat custom one needs to stay open in the long term.
