Currency

We're leaving in 2 weeks. Is US currency accepted throught Australia or should we exchange the currency for the Australian dollar?

metro1 I'm going to answer this question but I am hoping this is not a joke?

But, why would you even think American dollars are acceptable currency in a First World nation like Australia. Arrogance or ignorance ? Seriously!

Get some Australian dollars, they are the only acceptable currency.

The Australian dollar is now worth MORE than yours, so be prepared for sticker shock. We have the OECD's fastest growing economy and very little unemployment. In fact you might be surprised at what a wealthy, modern, urbanised country Australia actually is.

This MUST be a joke! Leaving in two weeks? And you don't know?

If you are fair dinkum, though, you'll be pleased to find out when you shop, that the quoted price is the price, and you do not have to add on taxes at the end.

AUD only or CC my capitalone.com

no fee venture VISA card works well everywhere

ATM for best rate

www.coinmill.com for current correct exchange rate

almost 1/1 careful not to get clipped on the exchange

money changers are the worst can cost 13-30% more if not

careful...

Have fun,
