Where in the usual tourist cities in Aus. are the best areas to search for fine crafts; i.e. glass, ceramics

Bobbi - I just love this place called RedGum Gallery. It's located close to Lilydale in the Dandenongs outside of Melbourne. They have a great mix of glass, art & ceramics as well as furniture, boxes, etc made from local wood (like redgum & jarra). I have been there numerous times and end up buying something either as a souvenir for someone or for myself. They also have the best scones in the world! Yummmmy raspberry jam, too!

Bobbi,
If you will be in Melbourne there is a wonderful shop called Crowded House Design in Glenferrie Rd. Malvern. They carry a wide range of stunning ceramics, glassware and other high-end handicrafts made by Melbourne based artisans. You won't be disappointed.

Also in Melbourne is Makers Mark in Collins St - glass, ceramics, silverware and jewellery and several galleries at Southbank.

This is another vote for Maker's Mark in Collins Street, Melbourne. I have often bought gifts there.
