bushwalking in the Blue Mountains
I will be returning to Australia for a third visit in December and spending a full week in Sydney between Christmas and New Year's (I'm so excited!!). I'm thinking about spending one of the days in the Blue Mountains once again. Given that my prior visits were to the Katoomba and Leura area, I'm looking at Wentworth Falls or Blackheath this time. Is one area more scenic than the other? I'm interested in taking the train from Sydney and then doing a 3-5 bushwalk / hike to explore a different area of the mountains. Any suggestion among the trails that involve the Grand Canyon, National Pass, or Govett's Leap? Thanks.

Have you considered the Jenolan caves? Look them up - there are several, of different hike lengths and difficulty grades, some quite strenuous, and all fabulous.
You can also spend the night there, at the Caves House, and nearby at McKeown's Rest B&B, or a bit down the road at Oberon for example (we liked the motel Titania, and not only for the Shakespeare allusion...)
You need a car for all that, the train doesn't get you to interesting places except Katoomba and such - you've been there.
We like to rent from https://www.bayswatercarrental.com.au, done it many times over the years, it always worked out well.
