margo_oz, I had to delay the planning of my international trip to Australia (or to anywhere far away) to welcome my brand new grandson into the world and to help with my little granddaughter! Now the timing of my trip is all screwed up, but I have a gorgeous hungry little baby grandson!
Now I'm trying to figure out where in the world to go, and when.... Since we have no decisions nor reservations made, it's looking like this September is too close...isn't it?
I bumped this because we have friends who are actually going to Australia and need help with their planning! They just signed up for Fodors forum.
My hubs and I will definitely get to Australia, but I dunno when. I still have my books and my research.
I'm concerned now about whether I can put together any international trip for this year for my husband and I when it's June already!

Of course you can - get on the net, book yourself out on 1st September & everything will fall into place.
You don't need minute-by-minute plans, just the first couple of nights' accommodation booked, a rough idea of where you want to go ( and you already have that ) & a flexible & easygoing mindset.
Bring your iPad so you can check on the grand-sprogs & send lots of pics home to make everyone envious
