Auckland Hotels

Has anyone stayed at either Sky City or Sky city Grand Hotels in Auckland?

Rocco,

no negatives.......... enjoyed it. Have stayed at a number of properties in Auckland, each with their own plusses and minus.

If you had only one night in Auckland would this be the place to stay? I am bringing 4 other couples with me.

The Great Ponsonby, a small hotel in Ponsonby would be the perfect place for one night in Auckland. Near lots of REALLY good restaurants and bars. Good breakfast, get lots of help with your travels. Best of all it is quiet.

Thanks for your reply. It looks like a great place to stay. They have offered us the Villa Rooms. What room did you have?

i stayed at sky city, was just o.k. nothing spectacular for the price, casino not that hot, food in restaurant nothing to write home about, room was fine, nice bathroom easy walk to waterfront. next time i'd choose the hilton or other hotel on the waterfront.

We had a palm garden studio at the Great Ponsonby. It was very spacious, great colours, had a bath, a huge comfortable bed and the breakfasts were REALLY great. Did not really need lunch.

The villa rooms I think are all in the main building. They are smaller , our friend was in one , but they have everything she needed. Most of them have a deck with a table and chairs outside the room.
