Auckalnd in July

Greetings, my son will be in Auckland at the end of June and into July for about 2 weeks playing water polo. He will have some time to site see and I was hoping for some suggestions of must see spots for him to visit with his team and coach. The boys are 16 and 17 years. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Sounds like an exciting opportunity! How much time will they have to travel around? Will they be able to get out of the city?

A few suggestions:

- attend an evening rugby game at Eden Park
- take a ferry to Waiheke Island or one of the other islands in the Hauraki Gulf
- visit the Auckland Museum (great views of the city from there)
- visit Kelly Tarltons aquarium (they might be a bit old for this, but it is very interesting and has a great penguin display)
- visit the wild beaches on the West Coast (Piha, Bethells, Whatipu)
- bungy jump from the Sky Tower
