Ah ha! Tourist is not an Australian! WE don't get called up for the "draft" we get "conscripted" and I have never heard the use of "draft" by an Australian. Let me tell you fella that Canada would be the last place that we would go to because any biological fallout on the US would probably fall over there as well with wind shift.
You are nothing but a socialist coward who is not Australian and has no idea how we Australians think - except those with dreadlocks that are part of the "rent a crowd demonstrators"
We welcome Americans with open arms - as we do most people of the world with the exception of people like you who should just crawl back under you stone and stay there!.
Bill, you will not be harrassed at least not by one of us. You will be welcomed and so will your family. Unfortunately you will probably find that there are the odd people here who would be better if they continued to take their medication and stayed off these boards but then where ever you go you will find that type. Australians were just as upset with the events in America as you were and we have pledged to stand with you and fight terrorism and I have no reason to see any change in that stance.
Enjoy your visit here - I am sure you will and I am sure that you will be welcomed everywhere you go.
All the best and have a wonderful trip
Liz

Also - America did not go to war in defence of Muslim people, they went to defend Oil and nothing more.

Furthermore, consider the previous poster's puching metaphor...

He punches me, I don't punch back, so he punches again, so I then decide to punch all his children, he punches my kids, so I punch his entire family, he beats up my relations in Europe, so I knock out his folks back in the old country, he kills my friends who had nothing to do with this etc etc.
Hmmm..that's a great plan.
An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind!

I do not wear hemp, I was educated in a highly respected school (where fellow students doent kill each other with their father's guns).

Lets all ignore 'Tourist' who is not Australian then hopefully he will get on a plane and go home and leave us in peace - we have no need for the likes of him either on this board or in Australia
If you need any information on the places you are visiting folk from the USA then feel free to email me ( I don't hide under a fake name) and I will try and oblige. Better still if you are going to be in the vicinity of the hinterland of the Gold Coast then come and see me!
Since you are such an educated person tourist, how much oil is there in Bosnia? We Americans who don' have the benefit of your fine education We were broken hearted by pictures of Muslims in concentration camps. I'll never forget my Time magazine cover with the starving victims. But then we're silly emotional people without your intellect. What do we know? We didn't even know there was oil in Bosnia!
I most definitely do live in Australia. I used the word draft as this is what Americans call it - just another example of people like you jumping to conclusions with the flimsiest of evidence and laying into someone!

As for America's intervention in Bosnia - one of the main reasons for their involvement was the revitalisation of NATO that participation offered, ending a war that could spill out beyond the borders of Croatia and Serbia and establishing a closer relationship with the Russian military. Yes, very humanitarian indeed...Protecting Muslims pretty low down on the list.

Anyway - we are getting so off the original subject...I was just annoyed that an American had the gall to question his safety in Australia when it is America that is threatening Australia's safety by their war-mongering.

They are great and this will be my second time back. That is why I want my family to meet the people of Australia(best in the world). I am worried about the few zealots who despise Americans from other countries. I was wondering if there had been any demos in the country.
Thanks for encouragement

NOTICE!!! I SAID "The best people in the world". I also was referring to people from other countries not the Aussies.
To all the great people of OZ I want you to also know that I'm coming back to show my wife a great country with the intentions of spending LOTS of time there in about 5 years.
Dear Bill

Hopefully when you do get here for a long time in 5 years "tourist" will have left school and left behind his radical thinking and grown up a bit. In the mean time enjoy your trip here even though we do have our fair share of loonies most of them are on medication!

I have been outside of Sydney for 3 weeks - with 2 to go -- on business -- but the weekends to go off and play -- everywhere I go -- people hear my lovely NY accent and could not be nicer (and I am an extremely jaded very cynical lifelong New Yorker) This country is great -- and the Aussies (well most anyhow) love Americans (as long as we dont beat them in Sport -- then all bets are off!

Enjoy your trip -- get some good drugs for the flight over -you will need it
