Air NZ Business Class - which cabin?
Planning a trip London to NZ on Air NZ through flight via HK.
Please does anyone have any advice on which Business class cabin is best on the 747s? Downstairs forward/rear or upstairs?
Thanks.
Michael

When we flew Air NZ in business class from Auckland to LAX on a 747, we selected the upper deck.
The entertainment system was lacking – tiny video screens, not much choice of movies or audio entertainment. The storage on the upper deck was pretty incredible. Our wheeled carry-on fit completely into one of the three side storage cabinets we had in our seating area.
That was in 2003 though, so perhaps the entertainment system has improved since then.

We have flown BC in 747's several times, twice on ANZ. We prefer the upper cabin. For the window seat, it has side storage pockets which can hold a lot of stuff which would normally fit under the seat. And it is only for BC passengers. Just seems more comfortable to us.
Don't remember the entertainment system, so apparently we didn't think badly of it.

I just realized that when we went, there was no Premium Economy. Now the upper deck is split between BC and PE, so my comments do not apply.

We are flying Air NZ business in March and chose the front lower cabin which used to be the first class cabin. I liked the smaller cabin . The restrooms on the upper deck look to be behind the premium economy seats for whats that worth.
