A2B Car Rental

Has anybody rented a vehicle from A2B rentals?

I have an offer of NZ$41/day for a 1500cc station wagon for six week rental, which seems very cheap. I realise, of course, that it will be a used Japanese import, but I would still appreciate any feed back.

Had an 8 day rental from Apex ex Auckland last week at $49/day.Insurance etc $8/day extra.

Not the flashest car on the road but worked just fine...apex and a2b I would think are amongst a group of local operators.

Car was not new and drop off at airport was a couple of kms away fromn the terminal...but that didn't worry me.

yes i think the $8 was to cover insurance excess.

I picked the car up at beach road in auckland city..there was a string of local "competitive" car rental places there.

Take care driving...roads are not expressways and often windy.

If you are on the coromandel go to Hahei. I would also recommend a boat trip to white island.

Thanks again John, I?m an expatriate Kiwi so I know the roads and have been driving them since ?56. We normally only have a week or two in New Zealand each year, but this time we are taking two friends with us and spending six weeks to cover most of the country, including Coromandel.

A2B are promising an airport transfer. I know the small rental places you refer to; the trouble with most of them is that can?t do a one-way rental or leave one car in Wellington and pick up another in Picton.
