WHO declares Sri Lanka free of Malaria
From the NYT: "After a long struggle, Sri Lanka, the large island nation southeast of India, was declared free of malaria last week by the World Health Organization. It has been more than three years since the last case."
This is good news for Sri Lanka and for travelers to Sri Lanka.

Thanks for sharing the great news, Kathie. When we visited Sri Lanka last year, our doctor advised us against taking anti-malarials based upon the declining risk; I remember him saying that his advice would have been different if we traveled a year or two earlier.
