Hi, I researched the web and it said the same as the previous two posts. However the second choice was May. I was there this year in May going into the first week of June. It was nice. It had gotten hot in Beijing. Cooler on the river. Hot and humid the more south we went. Didn't get much rain but when you go into June and later, you take that chance. We left just in time. Go for it and enjoy! It was a wonderful experience.

Keep in mind that the first week in October is a national holiday - all tourist sites will be swarming with local tourists, and flights will be harder to get. Also, this year in Octber, the major APEC meetings will be held in Shanghai. The whole city will be a nightmare to travel through, and it will be very difficult to get a hotel.

Therefore, for this year, I vote for September!

Hi Dave:

We spent June in China and surrounds(Beijing, Xian, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore). It was VERY HOT and VERY HUMID throughout. Luckily, we had little rain; 3 spurts in a month. Typhoons are also around in June; one missed us, barely, in Taiwan. DON'T GO IN JUNE! But, DO GO! YOU WILL LOVE CHINA! IT WAS THE BEST TRIP OF MY LIFETIME!

Happy Travels,
CYNTHIA
