i will be spending a weekend in taipei. can anyone suggest things to do, interesting places to visit, bars or clubs for local music, etc. any help appreciated. thanks.

National Palace Museum is incredible - you could spend the entire weekend there and not see nearly everything! Chiang KaiSkek memorial hall is also worth a visit. In terms of nightlife, there is a lounge-y bar called Champagne that is pretty cool, altho I think it can be hard to get into sometimes.

Let me second the vote for the National Palace Museum. It is wonderful!

Does anyone know if the National Palace Museum in Taipei is open on Sundays? <BR>

<BR>According to the web site the museum is open every day of the year.<BR><BR>http://www.npm.gov.tw/english/index-e.htm<BR><BR>From what i know museums usually close on monday but not the weekend.<BR><BR>I agree with the others, that museum is incredible, i've seen it 3 times and it's great every time!!<BR><BR>Chiang Kai Shek memorial hall is also nice, Taipei has tons of night markets, you should also check that out.
