National Palace Museum is incredible - you could spend the entire weekend there and not see nearly everything! Chiang KaiSkek memorial hall is also worth a visit. In terms of nightlife, there is a lounge-y bar called Champagne that is pretty cool, altho I think it can be hard to get into sometimes.

According to the web site the museum is open every day of the year.

From what i know museums usually close on monday but not the weekend.

I agree with the others, that museum is incredible, i've seen it 3 times and it's great every time!!

Chiang Kai Shek memorial hall is also nice, Taipei has tons of night markets, you should also check that out.
