Fair enough. I like antiques too, but the photos of the Saigon Morin just did not grab me. It looks like it could use a good face-lift. Keep some of the charming pieces, but modernize it a bit too, especially the bathrooms. I do like a very modern bathroom. That is one room where I can live without charm!

Sounds like an amazing trip. By coincidence we just arrived in Saigon on 14 hour layover en route to Sydney. Did deal with the Ibis at the airport for a day room. A shower and then the bus to District 1 for Pho at our fav place Pho Le ( yes the Pho is that good!).

will give some thought to suggestions for your trip during the next ten hour flight to Sydney!

Enjoy your limited time in Saigon! I will have to make a note of the Pho place. Have a wonderful time in Sydney. One of my favorite places. I've been there 6 times, most recently about 5 years ago, and hope to get back there again soon. Safe travels crellston.
