Hi all
Family of 5, 3 teenage kids wanting to go to Vietnam for 2 weeks in April.
Looking for suggestion on where to go and where to stay
Also ideas on Interesting and fun activies

If you want Asian beaches, I'd suggest Thailand. But, otherwise, follow Thursdaysd's advice- read guidebooks and see what appeals to you. I also like to check out tour companies' itineraries and steal their ideas
Vietnam is an entire country- it's impossible to answer without knowing anything about you. I'd be hard pressed to answer this question about the region I live in, let alone the entire country!

It is surprisingly common that a question about an entire vacation is posted in these forums without bothering to read the information already existing on the site. Click on Destinations, top left, and see what the pros at Fodor's have to say about Vietnam. It is not the full guidebook, of course, but does offer a framework for asking meaningful questions to the volunteers down here..

I would think of Hanoi, Halong, Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong delta and a few days in Phu Quoc Island for a full 2 weeks.
You can cut off the list if you only want to stay in 1 place for a long time, choose the North or the South only maybe.
