Ubud, Bali - HOTELS

There are many good hotels in Ubud, but I don't think any of them fit your bill of being Starwood or UA partners. Most of those types of tour-package style hotels are located in the Kuta/Nusa Dua areas. Sheraton, for instance, has two hotels in Nusa Dua about 1 and a half hours south of Ubud.

However, since hotels in Ubud can range from $2 per night to $2,000 per night, you have quite a range to choose from.

My personal recommendation would be to choose a mid-range hotel = about $50 per night, in the more exclusive areas just north of Ubud along either the Ayung or Wos Rivers. Examples would be Ulun Ubud, Villa Bukit, Sanggginan, many more.

If you need more information on Ubud such as hiring a car and driver, feel free to send me an e-mail.

I have two questions for you.
I will been flying into S'pore and from there I would like to head off to Bali. Do you know any special airfares rates from S'pore to Bali?
Second,my late 20s, do you think I can drive in Bali. Or do think I should just spend the money on a car and driver? Thanks.

there are 3 airlines to bali.
SIA (US$350 ret) is the most expensive but has 3 flights daily.
Garuda (US$250 ret) has 2 flights daily but uses loder planes.
Malaysia airlines(US$100 ret) has 1 flight daily but you have to go across the causeway to johor to board the plane. you'd need 2 hrs extra commuting time.
you can buy the tickets when in singapore or visit online ticketing."www.singaporeair.com"
as for hotels go to "www.asiatravel.com".

Unless you are use to Asia, don't drive in Bali. Most people have motorcycles or scooters which zip in and out of traffic. The traffic is quite hectic in and around Denpassar.

Perhaps in the countryside it would be easier to drive.

There are several high end hotels in Ubud, an Aman resort, a Four Seasons, and a somewhat less expensive Chedi hotel. Perhaps they are part of Starwood.

I would check the Starwood website an then ask on the board about the hotels.
Good luck.
