I can see I have to return to Singapore! I missed this i eat i shoot and i post blog and all that interesting looking food, and I didn't even try the famous crab! Gadzucks! Twist my arm....Singapore was great.

That fancy hotel, the Marina Bay Sand, opened. Turns out the pool is 150m not 3 50m pools. But it looks like they split it into thirds, so same thing. I'd kill to swim in a real 150m pool. You'd get to go so far before turning! It's called an infinity pool where the water goes over the side and it looks like you're swimming on top of the world. Here it is on youtube. Yikes! Can you imagine!

That place is over the top! Here's the hotel website. Check out their videos!

Orcas, I had no idea that was you on the tour!! Incredibly small world! I wish we had known that at the time! I am very much enjoying your trip report and will post a "real" trip report of my own on this forum soon! We also loved Singapore and hope to return sooner rather than later--so much food to eat and so little time-we didn't get to try the famous crab either!

rhkkmk, The next segment is actually in Japan, which I am posting separately.

Florida1, isn't it funny? It is a really small world. We should have been wearing fodors pins or something. I often wonder, when I'm traveling, if there are other fodorites out there. But what are the odds?

I have wondered that too, Orcas, and have thought, no, the odds are too low that it would happen. I guess the odds aren't as low as we thought! Hope we can meet up again sometime! Looking forward to your Japan segment, as I am also interested in going there!

I've always liked Singapore and have been going regularly since the 90s. And yes, the Ritz Carlton, harbor view rooms are beautiful. Happy Travels!

Florida1, I've posted my Japan report under a separate post. You can find my Japan trip report if you click on my name and pull up my profile. Hope you enjoy it!

Guenmai, that is so true. Our room at the Ritz was spectacular. Plus, we had access to the club. I love that when DH is traveling, as I don't feel awkward eating alone in the club lounge while he is off working.
