Trekking and Diving
Hi,
We will be in Thailand for 2 weeks in mid April and would like to do some trekking in the north and some diving, if possible to see whale-sharks, in the south. I would appreciate any help in choosing a trekking agency and route in the north and a dive centre in the south where we could either dive from or organise a live aboard.

If you need or want to know about the options for the trekking in the north,Let's check at www.chiangmaitic.com/trekking, you will area for trekking that you like,but for me last time i went on the trek with them( someone reccommended in this forum)trek Was great,excellent guide and foods, i went on the trek with this agvency for 3 days trek on North of Pai area that you can do Elephant riding, Bamboo+rubber rafting, visit hilltribes, waterfall and best meals you will get from trek, highly reccommended this agency or e-mail: [email protected]

In doing research for my own dive trip (this April)came used these guys for planning a live aboard trip. They come highly recommended and so far all communcations have been great.

The Similan/Surin Islands provide the best opportunities to see whale sharks and you can either get a liveaboard from Phuket or, my preference, Khao Lak which is much closerand has a great variety of dive centres. April is towards the end of the season but the sea should be calm & viz good. Don't pay too much credence to the hype put out by the dive centres about the probability of seeing a whaleshark - they are a rare sight in Thailand but the diving is generally pretty good.
