They didn't say how frequent is the online schedule updated, but when I cross-check with other online schedules in Chinese, they are usually accurate. Prices are correct as well.

I came across this site a few years back, it has amazing info, it is done by train entheusiasts and has to be one of the best sites on the net, very impressive information and great layout.

Just want to say that I've seen some recent pictures of the train set for the "Z" trains between Shanghai and Beijing (5 non-stops per evening, all depart within 30 minutes, all with 1st class "soft" sleepers/seats only). And they are nicer than most trains you'll find in Europe.
The photos on www.seat61.com apply to all the other trains, and they are still pretty decent. But the Beijing-Shanghai "Z"s are even better.
