Tour of Rajastan
Have 9 days to tour Rajastan area, Looking at 1 day Delhi, train to Agra 2nd day, see TM, back to delhi.
Fly to Udipur from delhi or Agra, 3rd - 4th nights there.
drive to Jodpur 5th night there, then continue drive to Jisalmer 6th - 8th nights then drive back to Jodpur and fly back to Delhi on 9th.
Is this do able? Only 2 adults traveling, Also is hiring reliable drivers from these area easy enough?

Hi!
Please find below a suggested tour plan for you. Instead of coming back to Delhi and taking a flight for Udaipur you can board the flight from Jaipur (This will add one more destination), you can visit the Amber Fort and climb atop the fort on elephant back to visit some impressive palaces of a bygone era before taking a flight for Udaipur.
Day 01: Arrive Delhi
Day 02: Delhi to Agra
Day 03: Agra - Jaipur
Day 04: Fly Jaipur/Udaipur
Day 05: Udaipur
Day 06: Udaipur to Jodhpur
Day 07: Jodhpur to Jaisalmer
Day 08: Jaisalmer
Day 09: Jaisalmer to Jodhpur and fly to Delhi
Coordinating with the drivers at different destinations can be a problem, so try to organize this tour from a reliable tour company.
The drive through Rajasthan is the best way to experience the royal hospitality of this desert state, also it offers an insight into the lives of its people and their long history

Thanks for your feed back.
Do you know of any good tour operators for organising a driver? I have sent a request to india cultural tours.
May have to make one of the nights short in Udaipur to alloy for the travel to jodhpur and flight time schedule to Delhi. We depart on the 9th day but luckily at night.

Hiring reliable drivers isn't easy. You need to make sure the driver speaks English AND knows the roads of the city you are hiring him for. Talk to to potential driver and make sure you feel comfortable with him before you hire. Also, negotiate the rate before you start your journey. For example, does the rate include re-filling with gas?
Also, make it clear that you do not want to be out driving after dark. Whatever the driver says the travel time is, probably add another hour just to be on the safe side.
