Hi Ken. Yep, emd3 is me. Fodors keeps making me re-register...1,2,3 times so I just keep duplicating myself! That is a scary thought, more than one of me bouncing around the globe.

Whereforartthou mywunrfl...maybe he is off on some globe trekking right now.

I wish I could make it, it would be great to see you all, but I can't go. Same reason that I couldn't make it to the HNL GTG - too much work and a planned trip to Buenos Aires at the end of October.

Can't make it to the Boston GTG because rhk keeps planning it right in the middle of baseball playoffs. Maybe my OAngelsO will be able to get past the Red Sox this year. If we make it to the World Series I would have to cancel the trip!

Maybe Japan/Thailand in November, or India in March.

Heading to New Haven on Saturday!

Good to see more of emd back on fodors. I still have to read your MP tr, but I don't really need to be tempted by another place I'd want to go to right now.

hey back atcha, mrw. I am spending lots of time in NYC, trying to get some clients and work. Son is at Boston Univ. now and that is where my $$s are going. I do have a quick 4 day trip to Oaxaca planned for Day of the Dead but nada mas.

Have fun in Buenos Aires, say hi to Scarlett if you see her. and btw, the Red Sox are going to get the wild card, right?

Thanks for the congrats, but oops Ken- Eagles is BOSTON COLLEGE. As in Boston College, where he did not get accepted. He is at Boston University, closer to downtown Boston than BC is. No football at BU, just hockey (the Terriers, #1 last yr). He is working in Boston also part time, to pay for part of his tuition.

Now that he is at BU, is he glad he didn't get into BC? That's what happened with my daughter! Too far out of town to do anyything at night, girls too into fashion, too many jocks, etc, etc. Who knows? Anyway, she's glad she went there and she graduated last spring!

Hope he is doing well!

Congrats, e, and thanks for the Casey update. Yes the Sox will almost certainly be the wild card, unfortunately.

lcuy, I can't believe she has graduated! I remember when she was just starting there (I think you did a post on your Boston college trip that I saw way back when, and have gone back to many times since then). Yes, he is happy at BU, seems to like it so far. He lucked out with a 16th fl. rm in Warren Towers A, facing downtown (unobstructed 180 degree view of downtown Boston). I use the pic as my screen saver!

Have a great GTG in Tokyo everyone! Eat some toro for the rest of us.

Kappa, what a pleasure to see you here! Some japan folks have been around quite a few yrs on this board, which is great. I just wish Florence was still around, i miss her posts.

I bet Mara is reading this post and wishing she was going to be there too. It is raining where she lives today ( I know because I am across the river from her today) and rainy Sundays are the best travel fantasy days...

hawaii, you and ms. hawaii have a great month and keep notes for the trip report!

emd, thanks (blush), I come here less often since the new format has been introduced but I do stop by occasionally. Oh, Florence, I hope she is fine and still doing kendo (I think it was kendo she was practicing).

I miss Florence too!

and we spent 3 nights on the 16th floor of Warren last May during the graduation. C1602 & 1603, IIRC. It was fun to play student and our DD got a kick out of us complaining about the elevators and bathroom, just as she did her freshman year.

The food in that cafeteria is good, too, so expect your son to put on a few pounds! Best wishes to him to have as good an experience as my daughter did.
