Tokyo City Tour
I am going to spend 2 days in Tokyo in January. On my first day I want take guided city bus tour. On the web I found 3 companies who offer these tours:
1. HATO Bus Tour
2. www.city-discovery.com
3. Sunrise Tours.
They have half and full day tours.
Which company would you recommend?
Would you recommend half or full day tour?
Thanks.

We just returned from two weeks in Japan. We used sunrise for a day trip to Kamakura from Tokyo and were delighted with the service and guide. Also had friends who took day trip from Kyoto to Hiroshima with sunrise and they too were impressed. If you get some time in Ueno Park in Tokyo, slip into the small Shittamachi Museum. Maybe it was just us, but we found it charming -- an evocation of the lower class neighborhood of the early twentieth century. Just wonderful.

I can not compare these companies, because we used only one of them: Sunrise. We were in Japan with General Tours, and they worked with Sunrise for half day Tokyo tour and a day tour to Nara. We loved these tours - very good guides, good bus, well organised.

The Hato Bus Tokyo city all-day tour was my very first tour on my first trip to Japan back in 1979. They've been doing it forever so they might be better organized than the others. Their bus seats are "elevated" for better viewing. I've taken Sunrise and they are comparable IMO (not sure about the elevation of the seats in their buses.) Haven't done the other company.
