seems some of these people resent advanced planning, aka getting the best prices and availability...

why not plan on jet blue, which cancels flights all the time from boston to ny??

i have also booked my 6 nites at krabi sheraton....

HE has failed to mention my suggestion of meeting nikki in saigon for 3 days...

There are plowmen and there are scholars. One lives in Needham and one lives in Cambridge. One wears shorts, the other a speedo. Need I go on? Has a single child ever said "I want to grow up and live in Needham?" I think not.

Thank goodness the BOS GTG is BEFORE you two head to BKK. If it was afterwards, I think it would be canceled due to the two of you strangling each other.... LOL (I know, it's all in jest)

I'm trying to assasinate by humiliation, but it does not appear to be working. Pandas are way to quick for a Needhamite to ever lay a hand on them. I'm safe.

Who suggested a GTG in NYC this summer? I know it was someone either wearing Speedos or Boxers?

Anyway I took your advice canceled my convoluted air arrangments and booked Singapore Airlines. Whichever way you slice it the flights are long.

Let's see. Einstein is going to spend two weeks with me and he needs time away from the normal? Does this make any sense whatsoever? I always assumed that was my function. How abnormal does he want to get?

You guys stand a good chance of visiting Bangkok when the temperature will be cooler than the usual months that you normally visit. I'll start thinking of something different and will let you know!

I know this is completely hopeless as Gpanda is not exactly adventurous. But how about Lijiang, Varanasi, Vientiane, Saigon, Bagan (via Yangon), Kathmandu, Paro etc. etc. - for goodness sakes, you have TWO WEEKS and have been to Thailand a zillion times DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT!

Hmm...There's swimming with the sharks, but that wouldn't be too interesting for Andy - professional courtesy and all that. I doubt Bob could negotiate the walkways of Bang Krajan on foot, let alone on a bike. This is going to require some thought...

You know, these two will be returning to the States just before Xmas time. My understanding is that they are already accepting requests for a shopping list, items they can bring back for the rest of us not able to take advantage of The Great Singapore Air Get Bob and Andy Back to BKK Fare Sale So The Rest of Us Can Have Some Peace for the Two Weeks When They are Gone Offer.

So, I'll start the bidding:
Two packs of curry paste.
A nice set of that green celadon china and
An elephant. Not the little silk ones from the night market. A real one please. Let's see you get that past the Air Asia weigh limit rule . . . .

Ignoring Tengohembre's intemperate remarks, I note that Bob has persuaded Beth and me to stay at the Marriott in BKK for four nights. Big surprise. He claims that the ROS kept coming in at a high price. So, let's see. On Sunday, it was a normal day with no thoughts of BKK at all. Monday, we booked flights about 1/2 hour after learning of the fare sale. By Wednesday, we had reservations for 4 nights at the Plaza Athenee, 4 nights at the Marriott and 6 nights at the Krabi Sheraton. In other words, in less than 72 hours we went from absolutely nothing to bookings for air and hotel for two weeks.

In truth, the afore-mentioned Tengohembre is to blame for the whole thing. It was his E-mail about the Singapore Air fare that set this in motion. A penalty that fits the crime would be to force him and Jill to come along.
