Thai Boxing at Lumpini Stadium

Hi again,

This is our first trip andI am trying to plan our itinerary. With everyoes' input hopefully we will have a eally great time.
Can you tell me how far the Lumpini Stadium is from the Royal Orchid-Sheraton? Also what is the best and the least expensive way to get there? Does anyone happen to know the schedule and prices for Thai boxing?
Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Cheryl

the easiest way is by taxi...it might take 10 minutes and cost about 60B, unless there is huge traffic...

you could go by skytrain but it is sort of difficult to get skytrain quickly from sheraton....you can take a river boat to taskim but they stop at about 6PM....

taxi is the best bet...60 B is only $1.50

Bob, we're thinking the same sort of activity, so I hope that wanttogo doesn't mind a tagalong question.

Is Bangkok the kind of place where you can just flag down a taxi on the street or do you need to pre-arrange one? Been to both types of cities before. Just wondering about that ease of finding that ride back from the stadium afterwards.

as for prices, they have three levels: ringside, and 2nd and 3rd. The 2nd is probably best; ringside is a bit pricey. In 3rd there are sightline issues. I think we paid about US$30 for 2nd level. Not cheap but lots of fun. Friday nights are good -- usually goes from about 6:30 to 10pm
