Student's First Time To Japan

I was hoping to get advice on which is better to stay, hostels or hotels. Is it better to have private room hostels or shared dorms? Any help would be wonderful!!

If you are travelling alone, shared dorms can be a good way to meet others. If money is tight, hostels & dorms will also be a better choice. The price difference can be significant.

As I posted in your ONE other fodor posting, BKreugUSA1, the events at Pearl Harbor and Hiroshima-and for that matter all the events of WWII- are certainly worth remembering.

Now you have any travel advice to add? Or did you register your screen name just to stir up trouble?

BKreugUSA1,

I'm certain you can find another non-Fodor's chat room in which to express your patriotism and apparent disdain for Japan. The internet is a big place. Please go find it.

Thanks.

Tsss, I didn't realise the US was at war with Japan again nowadays ... Silly me, thinking it was fanatics in Iraq ...

BTW, no wonder you got to be victim of crimes in hostels if you vented your opinions of Japan there ;-)
