Pook, your pictures are excellent,as always. You have an eye for photo composition! Great report also. Looked like Merapi might blow its top again?? Was that steam coming out? Maybe it's always present and I just don't realize that.

Thank you for the wonderful report and the lovely photos. The photos brought back wonderful memories of my time in central Java. I think the photos will convince Cheryl that we have to go.

Carol, as an active volcano, Mt. Merpati almost always has stream escaping. My photos from more than 20 years ago also show the steam rising from the crater.

what can i say....THESE ARE SIMPLY THE BEST, MOST CLEAR, MOST WELL POSITIONED PHOTOS I HAVE SEEN IN AGES....

thanks for sharing... now i don't need to go there because i have been there...

bravo!!

i especially love the photo of mony with the squiggles of colored lights...

i was thinking about joining brad later at the pickled at 1am when carol comes to town, but the old hawaiian sandman is on my back, so will have to see her tomorrow.

Very nice report and wonderful photos. Indonesia is so photogenic (especially with a simpatico photographer)!

The next time some one asks me if the Amanjiwo is worth the $$$$ I'm going to refer them to you. Their no-bill-til-the-end policy is addictive, but you quickly lose count of what you're actually spending. They should have a defillibrator at the check out desk.

Thank you marmot. Yes I was a bit scared when we were checking out of the Aman but at least I can brag to my friends that I have spent millions at the Aman!
