it's near Patpong... but then again fodorites don't seem to mind staying at swiss lodge..
anyways the red light district is fairly compact from.. about 3 small soi's.
the silom serene is a couple of blocks away from the action...
Robinson dept store is not the close.. CENTRAL dept store is much closer and a way better.

We stayed there on last visit in October last year. It's on a fairly busy street early morning and late afternoon - lots of people going to work etc.. but the hotel's good, great staffs. Pool's nothing to shout about but all in it was a good stay. The room we stayed in had a small kitchen area with round dining table as you enter the room, helpful if you're into take away food. There's a great hawker selling deep fried fish (tilapia & goroumi) at the junction onto the main road. Breakfast's the usual hotel grub but it's great to sit near the glass window looking at people rushing about to work. Then again there's a good Thai breakfast place just across the road - you can't miss it for the sheer locals it attracts. And the pics are fairly representative of the hotel.
