Sergeant Kai

I've read several positive reports about Sergeant Kai's operation. He has sent me a proposed activity list. He includes an elephant ride and a raft trip. To anyone who has done these with him, are these done in a large group of people or is it more private? Any other thoughts on your experiences with him would be appreciated.

We toured with Sergeant Kai of Chiang Mai Tours, last April and recommend him VERY highly. He took just my husband and me in a very comfortable van, along with his lovely assistant Nui and a very capable driver. We told him our ideas of what we wanted to see and he planned accordingly. We stayed in lovely hotels that served breakfast each day. We also had several lunches and dinners. He took us to tribal villages, which we were particularly interested in; did the elephant ride and show, raft trip and ox cart ride; went to the Golden Triangle; visited a monastery early in the day when we could see the young boys that were preparing to become monks -- so many wonderful things. We're not shoppers, so didn't go to many large markets, but the small ones with all the different types of foods were very interesting. Sergeant Kai and Nui both have wonderful personalities and a very good sense of humor. They couldn't have been more wonderful to us!

Gpanda, Have you booked with Sergeant Kai? I'm interested in knowing your experience. Originally thought we might just opt for car & driver, but are now thinking we might enjoy having a guide as well. We have been exchanging e-mail with him & are trying to decide on activities/sights around Chiang Mai. Anyone else have experience with Sergeant Kai or others they would recommend? thanks!

We did book with Sergeant Kai for late November. I can say that he is very responsive to E-mail and was open to customizing around activities that he suggested. I'll let you know upon our return in December. If you do a search on this board, most of the reports are favorable.
