Scuba diving - Bali

hy,
I've booked my holiday for this year (june/july):
3 nites in singapur (arriving from Vienna,Austria); Flight to Bali - transfer to Lovina - 5 nites; then a 3 days guided tour around the island and 7 nites in Jimberan on the beach.
My question regards to scuba diving - we are staying in Lovina, in the Puri Bagus Hotel and want to do a least 3 day trips of scuba diving - prefering the "marine park" close to menjangan.
Has any one any experience with the scuba diving there? About prices for daytrips?- We have been scuba diving already in thailand, the philippines and borneo, which was fairly cheap compared to egypt. We would have just booked the trips in the hotel - or do you have any other suggestions?
thx for the help.

Bali's best diving is off of the northwest coast/Menjangan island. It is quite a drive from Lovina, though, so you might consider staying in Pemuteran for a night or two. Taman Sari and Taman Selini are beside each other on the beach over there and are good.

And Reef Seen is a good dive operator that is also very environmentally conscious and active. www.reefseen.com

The diving is just o.k. in and around Bali compared to Simillan Islands, Phi Phi, Koh Tao and for sure Borneo. Bali is a destination for some of the loveliest scenery you will find, many interesting little towns, good food, Ubad if you are interested in art galleries and lovely locals. Jimbaeran Bay is a bit touristy but the Four Seasons-Sayan in Ubad is one of the best but no beaches. I would stay 3 days in Jimbaren Bay for 3 days and FS-Sayan for R&R and touring. Just get your own driver guide $35-$40 for 7-8 hours vs. double that through the hotels.

hy,
thanks for the advice. But I have everything booked already - the hotels and the guided trip.
After last year being scuba diving in egypt - the red sea - I can tell you that the diving in thailand and borneo were not so good - there is more to see in the red sea. But then every area is also very different, so I'm looking forward to some nice dives.thx
