Saphan Taksin station in the news again?

I don't know how to shrink this link, so hoping it works. Looks like the removal of Saphan Taksin station is once again in the news. I think it is a foolish move. Just my opinion.

I wouldn't want to have to take the travelator all the way to the shuttle boat pier with my hands full of packages. I don't think this is a smart move. I hoped the whole idea of this had had its run and was OVER. Guess maybe not...?

I suspect once they start building that moving sidewalk (or what ever they call it) its the point of no return. At least they recognize that quite a few people depended on that station and have a solution although not the best.

Agree it's not the best. But I also realize that double tracks across the river is a worthwhile goal. I've been on sky trains that have to stop and wait because there is only the one track. But I've never waited very long....
Just a side note to this discussion.... I was VERY pleased to see that an extra car had been added to the Silom line trains. Not sure if they add to the Suk line or not, but it's a great idea. It may just be during rush hour times.

Thanks -- if I understand the article the the station will still be there in January. It says the first stage begins July 2013 and will be the construction of the skywalk to take 360 days. The demolition of the station will follow that. I presume that means trains will be running to and from it?
