SANYO ONODA, Yamaguchi Prefecture

I just found out I will be staying here about eight days in October.

There is very limited information in English about this city in the Yamaguchi prefecture.

Can anyone tell me anything about it? Climate? Food? Fun things to do? Historical sites? Anything?

I am really excited but feel like I'm in the dark. Thanks so much.

Have never been to Sanyo Onoda but remember passing by on the Shinkansen thinking OMG what an industrialized area.

Close proximity to Hiroshima and Miyajima so a trip there would be the thing to do

Googled city guide.....good luck

Industrialized? Yuck! I picture ugly, like Detroit. Please tell me it wasn't ugly!

Was the landscape pretty? Green? Brown?

Thanks again.

Looks like a quaint town and right on the Seto Inland Sea....

The area I was referring to had lots of big harbor industrial buildup sort of like a Long Beach, CA or a mini Hong Kong docks area with lots of electric line towers like the kind in the old Godzilla movies, lol

Aloha!

Thanks for the pictures! It DOES look pretty. You had me worried for a minute. I thought you had seen the town, but now I guess you are saying that you did not see that town, correct?

Thanks so much again, especially for the pictures!

Well, I'll be very busy. I am going on a program and they are paying for everything. I'm supposed to have nights free though.

I stay with a host family one night, so maybe they can take me to some of these places.

Thanks again. You are good at "Google!"
