Recommended drivers in Sri Lanka

Hi, I will be travelling to Sri Lanka in mid December (6 full days) with my husband. This is our first trip there, and we would be interested to visit the Cultural Triangle, tea plantations, and a safari if possible.

While most of the trip would be self planned, we wanted to engage a driver to help get us from place to place. I have reached out to some of the larger agencies for quotes - Hayleys and Red Dot, but would also appreciate advice on good drivers to use.

Thanks a lot

Marie

I always recommend that people book through an agency, as the agency will provide back-uup in case something goes wrong: an unreliable car, a driver you don't get along with, etc. No matter how good the recommendations, I would never hire a driver with no agency back up.

We used Boutique Sri Lanka and had a great experience.

I totally second what Kathie says. There are a lot of drivers here, but for safety and backup you should work with a reliable established agency.
