Question about Prasart Museum

Does the museum have an online reservation system? For convenience, I'd like to reserve prior to leaving for my trip to BKK next week. Also, what is the approximate cost for a cab/driver to take you there?

I also plan on going to the weekend market prior to the museum. Do you think this is doable in one day?

personally i would reverse you scenario....you do not want to arrive at the museum hot and dripping as you would after having been at the weekend market....personally i would skip the weekend market...

you really need a private driver to take you to the museum....the cost might be about 300B per hour for perhaps 3-4 hours...

they do not have an on line reservation system.....you make res by telephone or have your driver do it in advance....ratt goes there and so does tong...they could do it for you....or your hotel conc. could make them for you...space is very limited so do not wait to make the res...

i called their shop in the peninsula plaza to make my res.....

Bob is right, no online reservations. Reservations are very limited, as they let just one party on the property at a time. We used Julie Taxi (Emma was our driver) to take us there. It's very hard to find, I wouldn't trust it to a regular taxi driver.

Ditto the above. We used Charlie, booked through Tong, to drive us there for our 10 am tour; we arrived early but her friend Benj was able to take us at 9:15! Charlie's charge was 1,000 bht for the half-day - about $28.50 US. And Tong actually made the appointment for us. Claire

The best is to call the Museum before going on your trip. We took Julie's taxi and everything went very smoothly. Bob is right. You want to be able to relax and enjoy the museum. The weekend market will take a lot of energy.

Whenever I go to the weekend market I'm totally finished shopping and heading back to the skytrain station by 12 noon. The droves of folks start flocking in at around noon. Happy Travels!
