Please comment on Tokyo itinerary

We are leaving for Tokyo in 5 days time, We have 4 days in Tokyo, saying near Ometosando before heading off to Kyoto for 4 days.

We'd be staying at the Wesley Center near Ometosando:

…wesleycenterjp.com/ourlocation_files/Wesley…

Jan 27 (Thur):

arrive 7.30 am Narita; check into hotel.

Check out Ometosando

Walk to Shibuya

Evening in Shinjuku

Jan 28 (Fri)

Disney sea

Jan 29 (Sat)

Fish Market

Asakusa

Edo Museum

Night at Ginza

Jan 30 (Sun)?

Harajuku

Meiji Shrine

Akhihabara

Ameyoko

1. I struggle with Day 4 - not sure what to put in there.

2. Are there glaring omissions in the itinerary? What would you change? Too much time or too little at those places?

3. Any advice on how to get around to these places would be a bonus.

All help greatly appreciated.

Since you will be at Ameyoko maybe Ueno Park then on down into the subway for two stops and out for Sensoji Temple. Switch days for Harajuku with Asakusa you should be set.

Aloha!

My thought is that unless you are really into the specialised shopping I would move Akihabara into your Asakusa/Edo Museum/Ginza day. There is really not *that* much to do there, unless you are interested in the 'otaku' culture (and really, once you have done one meido cafe you have done it all.) If you were to switch Asakusa with Harajuku then hopping on the JR Chuo Rapid is a fast way of getting between east and west.

Take a day trip to Nikko if you've not been before.

Thanks, BigRuss. If the 2 and half days are sufficient to cover Tokyo, then will consider Nikko with the extra day. I believe it gets really cold there in winter - website says it will drop to -8 in coming days.

Ometosando is just down the street from Harajuku and we did the Meiji Shrine, Harajuku and Akhihabara in a day. But Ometosando is also a haven for shopping and doing it justice takes a day. I have been to Tokyo twice, each for 5 days and each time felt like there was much more to do. 2 days is NOT enough. I would also say a highlight is the trip to the top of the Govt building in Shinjuku to get a chance to see Mt Fuji.
Why Disney? Just a thought, but it may not be significantly different from Disney-FL or California.

Thanks katlake. I was beginning to think that I've planned too many days in Tokyo. Will look for the Govt building. Disney sea is my peace offering to my wife (she's a Disney fan girl).
Would anyone recommend Odaiba? Or is it a tacky place?
